The cohesive devices are one of the important aspects academic writing that has been recognized as a fundamental characteristic good writing. aims this study to find out types used by students and identify error using when composing an argumentative text. This recruited ten from fifth semester English language program in 2021/2022 year. research approach was descriptive qualitative. entire data were analyzed identifying kind also errors devices.
